Your Faith Can Carry You Through!
I have sat in the doctor’s office and heard words no woman wants to hear. Not once. Twice. Twice I heard the word cancer. Twice I had to choose between fear and faith. And both times, I chose faith not because I was not afraid, but because I had a God who was bigger than what I was facing.
I also lived with chronic illness that does not always show on the outside the kind that makes you wonder some mornings if you have enough strength to get up and keep leading. God gave me strength I did not have on my own. Every single time.
And when the treatments were done — when I had fought the fight and come through the other side — I went back to school. I could have rested. I could have said: I have been through enough. But God put something in me that the cancer could not touch. The dream was still there. So I enrolled, I studied, I showed up — and I completed my doctorate from Providence Christian University.
Finishing treatment was not the end of my story. It was the beginning of a new chapter. I crossed that stage in doctoral robes and cowboy boots, and I raised my hands at a breast cancer walk finish line in a pink tutu — because I wanted every woman watching to know: what God has done for me, He will do for you. All things are possible with God.
